Hi All,

I am new to the site. I am a student filmmaker and I am currently searching for a good "cinemalike" camera to get. I have had my eye on the DVX-100B but I am still not sure whether or not it is worth the money. If I could ask anyone that is interested to give me any advice they can and tell me good things as well as bad things, if there is any, about ths camera.
Also, I noticed that there is also a DVX-100BPS which has a price tag about $1000 more that the 100B. It claims to be a "cinema camera". I was wondering what the differences, if any, there are between the 100B and the 100BPS. Thank you so much and I look foward to hearing from you. I am having trouble locating sample footage from a DVX camera. Any ideas on that? I would like to see the "TRUE" quality of the video before buying the camera. (Not compressed).
Thanks
Matt

yeah, i don't understand what everyone thinks is so great about the DVX.

I shoot everything VHS and never looked back. John, your wedding videos may be cool, but you havn't seen anything until you've check out my cousin's 8th birthday clip. Why worry about whether your editing in a 23.98 timeline when you can use 2 VCRs? NLEs are for smucks anyways.

Lucky for you I still have my '85 sony camcorder my uncle bought when I was born. It's damn good, but I could probably part with it for less than what you'd spend on a DVX.

PM me.

It is great because of the superior picture quality and the balanced audio nothing for the price can touch it! The best SD camcorder on the market period!

You shoot VHS? Really... why???
Is Briceman posting under an assumed name?

But seriously, I'm sure he's talking about SVHS...good stuff that...

I can't understand you guys. Look at that beauty I mean the one in my avatar my Iki... now that is a freakin' cam! Where else are you gonna get that much desired +18 grain and the ever popular drop out look? Can you whack a loud mouth print reporter in the head with the puny little lens on a DVX100...no way... And think about your look? the battery belt, all those NP sticking out of your pockets, I know you TK76 guys will say I am nuts but I still prefer my Iki/betacm over that elegant 3/4 inch kit.

a friend of mine just introduced me to hand-cranked 8mm...

blown... away...

I know I just said all that about VHS (S-VHS? whatever), but I'm never touching any of these crappy "electronic" doohickies again, I now know where it's REALLY at.

Now I can offer clients Wedding "FILMS"... John... We'll see who gets "the look" now.
