Should I buy a DVX?

I'm new to filming and was looking to start with a camera without a really high price tag. I have been looking at this camera DVX100B, and have wanted to purchase one. Its main use would be snowboarding. Filming is just going to be a hobby, I'm not trying to make a career out of it. Any opinions?

Great thing about the DVX100B asides from the picture quality, is the handle.
If you are going to be filming anything like your talking, then this is the camera.
Then you don't have to upgrade anytime soon :)

Nah, no gamble. Find a director or dp who is selling on eBay, as I did with a 100a and 100b. They treat them like fine china. I saved $500 on my 100B and the balance went towards lighting and audio. No warranty, 2 years later no problems. Even had some great emails with the guy getting tips.

$2500 new at NewEgg. I would not buy a used camera to save $300 (compared to $2200 used). On another hand, Canon XH A1 is about $2800.

I would only buy from B&H. My friend got a gray market DVX from New Egg last year and it was a real ***** to get his money back for it.
