Shots are Over Contrasted!

So I'm not sure what I did. But most of my footage lately on our camera has been too contrasted. I thought I set all the settings back to 0 in the scene file menu. I'm not sure what is going on but it's really frustrating cause I'm trying to fix things in post and it isn't really turning out that great. Anyone have any ideas what I might have done? Or what settings in the camera would make it more contrasted?

I hope that's enough info.

Thanks,

Lower master pedestal and a contrasty gamma setting increase the contrast in camera. master ped below -5 seems to crush the blacks and gamma settings of black press or cinelike V increase contrast. It is also possible that a plugin or color correction filter added in your computer is increasing the contrast (clipping the whites and crushing the blacks).

You can't get the dynamic range back, its gone. But there are ways to mimic lower contrast. One way is using a color correction plugin and raise the luminance in the blacks, lower the luminance in the whites and adjust the mids luminance to bring your image into balance.
