Shotgun mic holder does not fit?

I just got my HVX today and the shotgun mic holder that was in the box does not match the holes in the camera. Huh? Also, there are no screws to attach it even if it did fit. Is this a mistake or am I trying to put it on the wrong part of the camera?

You must be missing some parts.

From memory there are two plastic parts and 4 small threads that go together to make this fit together and mount to the camera.
 
BTW - take a look at the Parts page in your HVX Manual. YOu will see the two plastic parts (seperate images on the page) plus the pack of threads.
 
I suspect that you are assembling the mic holder incorrectly. The wider end of the bracket attaches to the mic clamp, and the other end to the handle of the HVX. The bracket should be angled up when you attach it to the handle.
