Shot Transition Feature

This may be a really dumb question, but will the AF101 come with a shot transition feature similar to the EX1R & EX3, or will the lens arrangement make this impossible? I recently rented and tested an EX1R, and LOVED that feature. How nice would it be to be able to just touch a button, and have this camera transition zoom and focus using the AF101's shallow DOF?

I searched the forums, but couldn't see this covered anywhere. But that may be because it's a really dumb question.

Thanks,

Lawrence

In theory, it would be possible for it to do something of the kind with focus on lumix lenses, but it won't be able to automatically zoom any lens.
I don't know if the feature exists for focus or not (programming focus pulls might be kind of cool) but my guess is that it is not.
you'd do better getting a follow-focus and learning to do it by hand.

I really thought as much. It's just that (aside from engineering difficulties) it would make such great sense. A Follow Focus seems like it would be great, but I'm usually shooting by myself in remote locations. From what I've seen of it, to be able to move the camera, zoom, and focus would be a real challenge for one person.

Using the EX1R, it was just really nice to press a button and then concentrate on framing my shot as the camera made the transition. And considering many of my shots would involve a change in focal point with a very shallow DOF, that accuracy would be really nice if could be included on the AF101.

Do you think there is a solution for me to be able to replicate the function with affordable after-market gear?

Thanks for the answer, by the way!

Lawrence
