Shot a graduation for the first time with my DVX.
Man, can the DVX put out some great shots.

Love the quality. Couldn't really afford the DVX but I'm sure glad I
bought it.

Soon enough it should pay for itself.
Got my first client, going to shoot monthly for them and making
pretty good money doing it.

Hopefully more soon.

Very pleased with the product I bought.

agree.
I love the DVX to death man.
there is something special about it DVX really.
I really love how the DVX captures the color and it's something I don't see in the HD cams.

I love shooting footage capturing it burning it to a dvd and every client thinks it is HD. ahahahahahah. I love it so much because you never have to downrez you amazing footage, beecause it is already to cut and burn.

Totally! I was looking at the DVX v. XL2 v. FX1 thread and the DVX looked the best in all of them except one! I wouldn't switch my DVX in for any other prosumer cam on the market! Panasonic rules!!!

I hate the xl2 so much, that garbage stock lens with the "assisted focus and zoom." They're so hard to use, and look so crappy that a cinematographer of the asc couldn't even make it look good when he shot Larry Clark's crappiest film "Wassup Rockers." I seriosuly think if they shot it on 35mm, it would have been way better, because Larry Clark just let the camera roll instead of directing the kids like he normally does. He talked about in his commentary that he had 3 xl2's going the whole time with the dp at a wave form monitor. The movie still has tons of blown high lights and proves that those cameras have no latitude. Check out "Wassup Rockers" if you wanna see a really controversal director make a cheesey ass movie on a digital cam. Super disappointing, especially after seeing Kids, and Ken Park.

the xl2 is always compared to the DVX because they both shoot 24p (&24f) and have all the manual controls and they are prced around the same.
actually the xl2 is supposed to be the high end cam but I have to say I hate the looks of xl2. the footage never really impresses me. (I'm sure there are good footage out there...)

the only thing I really like about the xl2 is that it shoots native 16x9. that must be one of the reasons many indi-filmmakers use that cam.
but if I had to choose another camera (& it's not the DVX) I would actually skip the xl2 and go for the PD-150 from Sony. I would say that cameras is more the compatitor to the DVX.
I've seen DVX like footage from that cam!

I still have a lot to learn. But even in a general shooting setting it's awesome.

I burned the dvd today and when I played it back, the picture looks very much like HD.
Awesome color quality.

Tomorrow night I'm going to shoot something different. Going to shoot a Senior's Prom Night and I mean Senior's as in 50-70 year olds.

Limo rides, Dinner and Prom Dance. Date night at a Senior's Care living facility.

Interesting.

Should be a nice story, very good shooting resume.
