I notice a slight stutter when the subjects move with a fair amount of speed. Gesturing with hands, etc. I edited on a 23.97 fps workflow, then exported uncompressed via MOV format. Then when viewing this I notice the stutter in the movement. Can someone explain this? What to do to avoid this?

Thanks,

JM

You do not have you Film/24p settings correct for the type of pulldown captured. Go to Film/24p settings to seelct NORMAL or ADVANCED and recapture logged clips via a batch recapture. Also, you need to ensure that the settings were set to capture "A" frame on 00:00:00:00 in the same settigns window.

Hi Michael, thanks for all your help.

Ok, I checked my film/24p settings, and the video pulldown cadence is set to standard 2:3:2:3 That's the correct one for the dvx100 right? I shot standard 24p in the dvx100.

Also, I was wondering, regarding the edit play rate, what's the difference between 23.976fps and 24fps? For a dvx100 24p standard, is 23.976 edit play rate the one to have? What if you are shooting 24p advanced? same? or 24 fps?

Also, under that there are different settings for edge type, film type, etc... I guess that doesn't really apply to me. I just leave it as is?

Ok, I ticked the box on the settings that says to set the pulldown at "A"

How do I "batch" recapture by the way? Is that a special way to capture? Or do I just recapture all the footage as normal from the beginning...tape 1 on my tape deck.

Thanks,

JM
