I shot this short on a tight schedule of 2 days, the beginning won't make much since because it's a sequel to the first one. I am posting this video only for input, I know it's not great, but I do love to make movies.. I only have a small crappy mini dv camera and currently saving up for a dvx.. but I thank everyone who actually watch this short and have any kind of input whatsoever, positive or negative I greatly appreciate anything, and sorry for the hillbilly accents, Unfortunately I am from Georgia ... haha. thanks guys.

hahaha wow, as a big fan of wars, i enjoyed it. aside from the cheepness, like weapons, camera, story, acting, and a few other things. but that was the joy of it. id love to see what you could do with a $2500+ camera and about 10 grand.
some spots had pretty good camera work, no doubt amature, but i was impressed. also, some explosions n bullet hits to trees n such made it that much better. i didnt expect any of that. i thought it was cool to see that. as cheaply done as it was, you do know what your doing. and i think thats why i enjoyed it so much. cuz you used what you had and made the best of it. i loved the red ryder german gun. haha awesome. anyway, good job IMO. props for trying a war movie with little little budget and doin it better than alot ive seen done

hey thanks man, I really appreciate that. yea acting is the biggest flaw.. and noone in our group is good at writing dialogue and scripts so we do it pretty much on the fly. yeah guns and costumes are problems too, because they don't look all that real, but hey atleast you didn't point out the same american actors playing the german actors, we only had 6 people through the whole movie, so yeah we had to conceal faces as much as possible, thanks for the comment Six, very encouraging.

dude, honeslty, for having a cheap dv camera, i was very much impressed. i really liked the bullet hits, and big explosion at the end, you didnt use squibs did you? im curious about how you got those effects, also what software did you use for the blood. aside from the tchical aspect, i thought your camera angles, and editing were very well done, and i really didnt think the acting was that bad at all, all in all, i really enjoyed it. cant wait till you get a dvx, (i got the 100a, o my god its amazing,) anyways, catch ya later man, keep up the good work

your welcome. i just watched it again actually. it really makes me wanna do a wwII/vietnam movie. but its just not my style. my work has always been about storys that are i guess, "real life" not that wwII isnt. but an example, the reason i would never do a WWII movie simply because of the locations. it be too hard to do a real WWII setting without traveling, pretty much overseas. ive always used real locations, never built sets. but after watchin it, its soo tempting to get my crew together haha. figures, one could get authentic wwII clothes and weapons. but the locations would be hard. the brick building in your short was pretty good, gave it the old feel of war torn town. i gotta go watch some old wwII movies and see what kind of wooded areas they have. maybe ill change my mind

Hey Beacher thanks alot man, well we're pretty much old school with all the effects we use, for instance my friend josh watched the saving private ryan bonus features and got stephens Idea of taking wooden planks and putting dirt on the end when the actor steps on it it has a nice smokey effect which we did, also throwing dirt into the actors face from a close angle and add a nice ricochet sound to simulate bullethits. I didn't use squibs, I did use a few cg effects from Action Movie Essentials at www.videocopilot.net and used them with After Affects, although I don't like to use them, because I'm not that good at keying them, yeah I want a dvx very badly.. thanks alot Beacher.

SIX09THEORY- thanks again, and yeah it is really hard to do a movie like this and I understand what your saying, I would much rather do a modern day action film, but I have always wanted to attempt to make a war movie, and when we saw that building that made us commit to it. thanks again Six.

Haha not bad, I watched the entire film and I think for what you had it was enjoyable. 2 things I did notice 1: The shoes haha, the guns didn't bother at all, but their shoes did haha. 2: During one scene (I think he says something about covering the stairs) the camera man or someone close to the camera begins to laugh. That can be edited out, but I noticed it. And just think, your already miles ahead of those who say they want to make a film, but never do it. Well done.

thanks Scar :) we are currently working on another script for a sequel, but things get complicated with coming up with new ideas, thanks for your comment my friend.
