We find the GH1 (with kit lens) kind of ideal for short product review video notes. Never thought this would be so much fun.
What we liked:
- sound ok for this kind of topic
- Kit lens (14-140) very versatile and can get close (see histogram shots)
- Small package (tripod and head the min hurdle)
- Good image quality
Processing:
- Neoscene from AVCHD 1080p to ProRes at 1080p 24fps
- Pre editing (chopping to the essential stuff) in Quicktime Pro
- Final Cut Pro 7
- Converted to 720p 24fps from FCP
No artistic work here
. Also these are very much still shots but we think the quality is nice (video) and ok (sound).
Issues:
Hard to operate the camera and talking (as one person). So still shots are a solution. Would be nice if people would have been in the background. Strange because in our photography we don't want these people to be random in the frame.
