Ok, before you watch this (if you indeed watch it) I'd just like to point out if you don't have a dark sense of humor you might think this wrong, take it for what it is. It's very simple, just something I did for fun, but figured i'd post it anyways. You will hear/see some copyrighted material from the tv, but i only did this for fun so i wasn't too worried.

after that, i'm a little scared to leave negative feedback...
i thought it was great for what it was. Maybe a little more lighting on the couch scenes. Maybe you could shorten just a bit -- i know it's the point but it was a bit slow. And finally, the audio on the voice over is good, but the other audio (flashbacks) wasn't so good. Try and get a mic closer in on the subjects -- it does make a big difference.

yeah, my lighting was lacking, i didn't have much to use, just one worklight and a small open faced light. I would have definitely gone about this differently had i had the option, but didn't really have a place to do something better, so i figured i'd do something instead of nothing even if it ment not being ideal. As for audio, I agree, it was just the on camera mic I used, all i have otherwise is a shotgun mic which isn't very ideal for indoors :)
 
I thought it was a bit slow and didn't understand some of it. Like the scene of the second friends, does he play poker with them?
And why do the first friends ditch him after he asks if they ever think of killing themselves, they were all heavy metal dudes it didn't look like a wierd place to say that. If they were computer nerds playing video games and he said that that would have been funny but in that situation it was not really.
it's got great potential but I think not yet used
 
The joke behind the card game was the fact that Paul says he had real friends, the kinda he could relate to, yet in that scene, they had nothing to say to each other, hence the "so guys...*sigh*...yup"....and not everyone who likes heavy metal wants to kill themselves :P I am a metal guy and never have I once heard someone come out and say that. I would think computer nerds would be more apt to wanna kill themselves, seeing as nerds tend to have less of a social life, at least stereotypically :) As for the pace, I can see why you might think it was a bit slow, though i'm not exactly sure what i could have done to speed it up really.
