Hey all,

Started a short project for school a couple weeks ago and this is where I'm at. I would love to get some feedback on it. I'm really new to AE so a lot of that stuff is really rough. I drawing some inspiration from stuff like "Sunrise Earth" and such.

The View From Below 19mb (right-click please)

Gona get an original music score in there next week (hopefully) and still need to credit some people but that's about it (galaxy and big bang are integrated from other projects).

Thanks!

I though it was well done. There were only 2 parts that I wasn't too crazy about. I didn't really like the earth part. I thought it didn't look realistic, but maybe that's what you were going for. And there's one scene in there with the palm trees and the green grass that looks REALLY green... lol

I take it you figured out how the clouds were done in the thread you created the other day? Or did you have to figure out something on your own?

It's just music

As in you cannot see the video, or you didn't like the visuals?

Totally agree on these two points. I cut it again today down to three minutes and will get that version up. The earth will get redone, when I find time. And that grass is the strangest thing. On my production monitor it looks great but yeah, computer monitors really make it look off.

Clouds, well, I figured out a way to do it using a still for the bottom layer of cloud cover as was suggested. I'm happy with it.

Thanks.

What kind of monitor do you have? I'm looking to purchase one and am thinking about the 13" JVC - don't know the model no. off the top of my head...

Just the little 9" JVC. It is really a portable production monitor but I use it for CC too. Does a pretty good job. Robust and accurate. I can't accommodate a larger monitor right now but if I was looking strictly for post, I would get at least 13".
