Hey everyone...

I had posted a roughcut of a short (shot on a DVX, of course) here a few months ago and got a lot of great feedback... (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=29626&referrerid=7658) Thanks to everyone for all the comments and suggestions!

Anyway, it's finally finished and now up on the IFC Media Lab. If anyone is so inclined, I'd love for people to check it out:

More comments and/or suggestions are always welcome...

Thanks again,
Craig

I remember watching the rough cut. I didn't feel as much of a difference since compared to the final version to be honest. The colours did seem better though.

I dig it... but the acting is pretty bad. I also remember watching the rough cut, and I did notice differences. If I recall, the audio was low and a bit muffled in the rough... sounded pretty good here.

Simple concept, one shot, probably quite a few takes... besides the acting, I think it was interesting.

thanks for the comments everyone.

yeah, i would probably do a lot of things differently knowing things i know now, like directing the actors better (i think i was more concerned at the time with how it looked), but hey... it's all a learning experience, right?

rather enjoyed it... I like the single long shot... most people would have cut... I like that you didn't..

good job.

I also thought the fact that you applied staging was cool....Some people in here get "cut crazy"...I do a series, and i either have the camera moving alot, and if i stage i have the actors move alot....I use cuts very sparingly..good job dude.

It's funny, because I work in the promo/commercial world, I think I subconsciously wanted to get away from being "cut crazy." That's what we do all day long... It was a refreshing experiment to set the camera up and just go with it.
