Gives me some hope for the D90. I'll do some research on how to avoid jello.
I have used and tested both nikons(D90 & D5000) and canons. We gave the nikons to our still photo department. After intensive testing and even had my bro use it in short films it was Just not acceptable in a controlled PAID work. As a still camera they are great, D90 was used to shoot my wedding last July. -but stills only. For video we had the JVCs and a Red for that.
We went with 7d for video. Even though most of the SLRs we had since the 80's were nikons. (our use had a mix of german, US and japanese cams from 1920's to the present )
We just bought nikon to canon adapters for them.
Being brand agnostic, what works NOW for video is the Canon DSLRs and GH1(no personal experience with GH1) based on results.
This opinion comes from my experience coming from using 2 prohd JVC HDxx cameras for video as my reference to our purchase decision.
You will not regret getting a canon if you want to use it NOW instead of a nikon. By the way, my bro's group got a canon to replace their D90.
