Hey guys.
Me and two friends was supposed to make a documentary for our filmclass,
but being more fond of the fiction genre, and having only one day to shoot, we decided to go for a mockumentary instead.
I've had the film on my computer for a while, but I haven't been able
to make subtitles for it before now.
The film is about a man who makes his living by hunting pigeons down at the beach
where he lives. It's about 11 min. long and has english subtitles. (danish language)

It has been compressed with windows media to lower the filesize.

Windows media format, 60mb, " right click, save as.."

I compressed it with sorensen squeeze. I was afraid that if I compressed it too much, the subtitles wouldn't be clear. I'll try compressing it some more

DEAR SWEET HOPSCOTCHING THAT VID IS ENORMOUS.

When it's done downloading I'll tell you what I think.

Be back in a few days.

-EDIT-

Seemed interesting. Had funny parts. I must say I didn't watch all of it. Already on a tight schedule as is. The only downer for me is: Subtitles. And...Finnish (or whatever language that was). If it was in English I would have watched it all. Don't worry, I enjoyed it. Lot's of it. Seemed long though...

i love it. i bet you rip cds in wav format too....

its a nice video. too bad english is my only language :(

hehe, I see your not too happy with the filesize :)
Do you have any suggestions when it comes to codecs? Is the new apple h.263
any good?
I'm really sorry about the big files, but if I compress it more the subs will be unreadable.

-cheers.

I think it looks great. Did you use any color corection at all? What mic were you using?

Hey Bobby. I didn't use any color correction, I was lazy at the time :)
The mic I'm using is a Sennheiser k6 module with a me66 mic atached to it, and
a wind doggy. I highly recomend it, the k6 system combined with a wind doggy
outside works like a charm, because it was really windy when we shot this film and still we got very clear sound.

downloading now... after watching your extremely well done project on that blind guy i knew i had to see this. will comment once its done.............

couldnt stop laughing, i could see how some people might find offense but i thought it was hilarious. I hope u guys get an A. I also realized how silimar scandinavian languages are. I can speak a good amount of swedish and i understood much of it w/o subtitles.

One thing i didnt get tho. How in the heck did that come out to be 130megs? The image quality definetely didnt represent the filesize. O well, next time use some 264 and ull be fine. (takes a lot of time i might add but worth it.)

Yeah, i'm gonna try using the 264 codec and upload it again.
Thanks for the feed back, I'm glad you laughed :)

I'm having some trouble using the 264 codec, what program
should I use to compress the file with using the h.264?

It seems like cleaner 6 is only for Mac'.
I'm using a PC, any other suggestions? I've tried to use the 264 codec
with sorenson and premiere, and I get errors and large files.

I have now compressed it as windows media, and it's 60mb.
I know it's a little late, but at least I have done it :)
