short little thingy

That was pretty cool. You could tighten up the editing with the music a bit more but other than that it was definitely fun to watch.
Man, how I wish I could have had a dvx when I was your age. Or any camera for that matter.
Have fun.....

Like you said, aside from being really dark, it wasn't too bad... have to admit though, the music was starting to drive me nuts.

That was pretty cool! You ought to see if you can clean it up in post a little and submit it out to something like the Hi/Lo Festival. That is better than lots of the stuff that make that collection.

I was wondering if he was a sleepwalker at first. Then I thought maybe he was acting like he was hunting and found an actual bloodtrail and was following it.... it had me guessing. heh! Good job.

wow you guys actually liked it!? cool. so how would i go about making those shots brighter. ccause while im editing it, i have premiere hooked up to a diff camera, hooked up to a tv so i can watch it, and it looks prefectly fine there. but this looks way dark.

thanks a lot for the feedback.

haha yeah i hate the music

OK SPENCER WE GET IT

You did everything

Haha

Was kind of dark... I liked the short scene with the babbling brook. Good use of surroundings.

Interesting music. interesting short.

But if it had been over 4 minutes, i would have stopped watching. You hit the mark, and know how to get close enough but still keep the attention.

Nice work, Kiddo. Keep on keepin' on.

Things I would change:
-The intro credits need to be much shorter, if even there at all. Perhaps tack them on at the end.

-The crushed blacks are because of the compression, just try playing around with your compression settings. You could also create a copy of your project file, and then try raising your blacks up, re compress- see what that does. Play around with it in that file, so if it doesn't work you don't have to spend time putting together your old file.

-I would have loved to hear much more nature sounds. Leaves crunching under feet, the sound of the brook could have been really great. In fact, I think it would have been better if the music cut out entirely when he reaches the creek/ house, and have lots of natural sounds. I'd suggest going out and getting some NAT/ foley and putting it in.

-It could have been shorter.

Things I liked:
-I liked the colors a lot, sans the darkness.

-Your compositions were very interesting, and the handheld worked well.

-The music was good, helped the mood. But again, would love to hear more of the nature sounds.

-Your brother did a good job acting.

-The edits were nice, shots weren't held too long.

Good job, I enjoyed it.

k thanks for the advice, ill try and record some sound later on. thanks a lot! haha yeah i do all the work round these parts. hah
