Short Film

I was really dark. I mean that in every way possible. I wasn't quite sure what was going on, mainly because I couldn't see it very well. I would keep your blacks low, but put in some contrast, too.

Also, you might want to put it on a site we don't have to register for. You'll get more hits.

This was all composited in AE, then the 2 cuts and grade done in Premiere.

Generally speaking I find it unfortunate when someone asks for feedback, to put it on a site that requires signing up.

Agreed. Hosting is so cheap there is no reason not to have your own site for others to view your work.

I thought that was nicely done. Very dramatic. Acted very well and I love the blood. The music fits well. I thought the low light really added to the mood.
Good stuff.

Now that I've viewed it. I have a couple of comments.

In terms of overall lighting, I don't know if it was my monitor, or just how you setup things in terms of lighting the original shot. But I found the highly lit table corner 'disturbing' in that I couldn't really see anything else. When the girl takes her position
sure, she's dramatically lit, but that shine really fixes my attention there, rather than any of the action. While people may think of 'powder' for actors to take shine off faces and temples, etc. lighting of objects needs to be addressed, and shine muted as well.

Again depending on my 'monitor', it seemed the other areas of the frame were not lit enough to give 'dark', but detailed enough to see there were things there.

My impression is that you boosted/lit with too much contrast. For example, the same attribute of the table, the 'shine', could be used to advantage in the darker side of the image, where one sees the 'shine' of the edges of the table, to fill out the frame with substance.
