There's a fellow from dvxuser who made an excellent short film 'proposal' for a feature -- but the proposal film stood on its own as well. It was shot, I believe, on a Panasonic DVX100 with a 35mm adapter. It was a sci-fi romance, involving a robotic woman -- I think. I know this same person, whoever he is -- and I think he's European, but I may be wrong -- also shot a short film involving a Hummer in a snowy environment, and a very sharp looking F1 racing commercial (or, at least, it involved an F1 car) with a Canon XH-A1.
I may have mixed up a few details, but I remember looking through this guy's stuff a couple years ago and being very impressed. I think he -- and his filmmaking/producing partner -- were something of a big deal around here. If remember correctly, they met through this forum in the early aughts.
A link to his Vimeo profile and/or any updated info on what this guy's doing would be great. I remember he had set up a fundraising page to finance the feature version of that sci-fi romance.
Thanks!
