A friend of mine just finished a short 20 minute narrative shot on the AF100. I did all the color grading and some post work. It is premiering at the PA latino film festival (and hopefully more to come) this Saturday night. Wanted to share it with all of you

PS: We previewed it on the massive screen in the theater and it was literally amazing. I was unsure how it would play that big, but it held up nicely.

Looks like a great short! Nice color grading. Did you use the internal codec to record?

Although I did not shoot this short, they did shoot on the internal codec. It was converted to Pro-Res 422 using Final Cut Pro. When I got the final cut pro project file, I sent it to the APPLE COLOR, where 90% of the picture grading took place. I then sent it back to FCP 7 and made minor tweaks using Color corrector 3 way. I used Neat Video to denoise and added grain using magic bullet software.

Glad you liked!

What kind of "look" would that be classed as?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. But For each scene/shot tried to emphasize the tone of the moment. Take the example above. It is the morning after he has struck her and it is kind of a darker scene, and her son is watching them from the stairs. So I went with bluer grayer tones, darker overall to help try and get that mood across.. For the farms scenes, which are like an escape for the character, wanted a more saturated golden look.
