Short film made with GH1

that could have come from a comedy company sketch =) ah i miss those old school comedy shows. what comp is this....i'd like to give it a crack.

main shot was overexposed and I learnt to never use auto WB again...lol the final car money shot was shot underexposed and brought out in post with great results? It's always better to slightly under expose than to over expose yeah?

and yes i know, not the best way to time lapse but that's as far as my knowledge goes for now.
 
Haha...well done. Looks good.

It's actually better to slightly overexpose as long as you don't blow out the highlights.

Yeah? it was tricky cause the sun would decide to peek its head now and then through the clouds.

when i thought i had good exposure through the histogram as in the start, you can see that it starts blowing out when the sun came out like at the end before the car comes in. So in this particular situation where conditions are quite variable is it good to underexpose slightly to compensate for blow out when the sun comes? It seams easier to brighten the image than to darken it.
 
Under those conditions I think you chose the right approach. When you have control over the lighting or conditions aren't likely to cause blown out highlights, you're better off slightly overexposing because it gives you more leeway in post.
