(Short Doc) Kenn Kweder: The Messiah

Hey guys,

This is my first post. I know how annoying first posts are that start with "Watch my project" and I honestly do apologize for that. I'm a long time lurker, but only signed up now. If possible, I was just wondering if anybody could watch this and maybe point out the pluses and minuses.

I think sometimes the shots are just to long. If you keep a shot for more than 3 seconds, people think they have to find something important. So when it's gone suddenly they think they've missed something

Well, that's what I have...

The old guys dancing...it's funny :-p

It's to bad also it's shakey from time to time.

The song part (bad romance) could have been shorter I think, same for the song more at the end...it's to long

In general the same could have been told in.... 8 minutes. And I don't know a lot more now about him...

Out of curiosity, what kinds of things were you looking to know? At the end of the video, what questions were on your mind? Thanks for the reply!
 
Well during the "music" parts I was scrolling fast forward after... 1 minute.

I haven't payed much attention to the story because I was not much attracted to it.

And you could say "well, it's because you're not interested in that kind of music". But if you can make someone looking to something he's not interested in ...that's very good.

It's also good to learn from others, watch documentary's, watch news reports,... see how they do it.

That's very fair and equally true. Part of what I set out to do though, was instead of focusing too much on who he was, I tried to use his lyrics to help get across who he is as a person. The specific songs were chosen to help further the understanding of his character.
 
Great work, man! I almost never watch videos on YouTube that are longer than 4-5 minutes, especially not documentaries. But you found a fantastic character and gave us an insight into his highs and his lows, his longings and desires, all in just 15min. I was very surprised that it held my attention that long.

As for pluses and minuses, I'd say a big plus was the editing and the star/subject (Ken). The cuts were smooth and rhythmic, even nostalgic. The biggest negative, for me, was the shaky camera and occasionally bad audio (such as when he's driving and talking about the "scientific discovery store"). The camera wasn't always too bad, but I felt that some shots could have been smoother.

But great job, dude. It was a very interesting watch. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for writing Michael, I really appreciate it. My (shaky) camera work still needs a lot of work and is something that really bothers me, but I'm glad you liked the editing, I feel that's where I am always most proud when it comes to my work. And Kenn is real, haha, nothing in there is fake, and he really is a (real life) character.
 
Well the editing was good yes. It was not very "stable" but you helped it out in a way by cutting.

So...don't jump from the bridge but make other ones...and learn...
