Short Clip

Id like to help but all I can think about is what song that is.

maybe Red Sparowes?
I dont know, but i have that song on my itunes and its driving me insane hahah sorry

would you mind sharing?

Someone else is going to have to chime in on that one... I have no idea. I don't think I've ever seen it do that with just a black. Give it time, you'll find the answer.

As for the "grain", lack of correct lighting would be the culprit.

What did you do to get that aspect ratio, by the way??

so this was shot without the 16:9 adaptor. Just in squeeze mode...is that correct?
Also was the camera on a dolly? How did you do that move? Looked nice!

Yea it was just shot on squeeze mode and then brought into a widescreen timeline. I just used my filming board for skateboarding. Works really good.

Here is a frame that containns the flicker. It looks like two fields.

Are you Exporting directly from Premiere or are you exporting and then using a program like Sorrensen Squeeze in order to achieve the .mov extension? The reason I ask is because I have seen this same issue in some of my footage using 24P in a 16x9 Timeline in Premiere 2.0

It flickers when I just simply export it from premier.

So it does not flicker in your timeline? only when you export, correct?

What are your export settings? If it looks fine in your timeline, it's in your compression. Try a few different export formats, and see if it's still there.

Also, I'd change the name of this thread to something like "need help with flicker", and you'll get more responses. Or even start a new thread in the "technical" section, post the clip, and wait for the answers.

I've seen this when a 24PA clip is rendered as if it were 24P (not sure how that happens). Also. I've seen it with the older version of DV Rack - but it only happened on my computer - not once I rendered it to a DVD.
