Short Clip of Trail Work

So, here is something I have been shooting all summer. I am just now getting to edit some footage for a short trailer to help raise money and sponsors for the non-profit trail restoration project. Let me know what you guys think. I know it's not the "film" look I have seen from some of you on the DVX but perhaps you could help me with that. I shot it at 24p 1/48 with a haze filter on the lense because of the altitude. Please criticize this is a working project. Thanks!!

Re: Short Clip of Trail Work

was that a real mountain goat just staring at you guys? that's pretty funny. I didn't know they were humongous.

thanks for sharing. It looks like Discovery Channel material.

mixedclimer, there were only two things that botherd me(just didn't like) your choice of font and the black color, also the transition black wipe. Other than that, you're footages looks amazing. Very clean and exposed just right. Yeah, it did remind of something like discovery channel. It was nice and the goat looked evil. Anyways, good work.

Are you based in Colorado? I'm in Denver. Feel free to email me at dwatson at entertain.com

Definately has that 'Discovery channel' look. You might want to check out disjecta's post regarding 4:3 to 16:9 conversion in the Technical section. He uses a method that seems to bring out sharper detail in panoramic shots; it might help sharpen your timelapse clip at the beginning...

Thanks guys for your input! I have tweeked it a bit more and am close to calling it ready. Ready to get the sponsors anyway. I am excited that so many people have checked it out. I feel honored!! The only drawback is that my website is now overwhelmed with traffic. Can anyone recommend a good way to update the amount of space and traffic my site can handle?

Find a better host. I don't know who your current host for your website is but you should check to see their upgrades. Some host offers higher bandwith and more space. You need to do a google search for what ever suits your budget.
