Short Band Promo

Re: Short Band Promo

It's quite good. Should help promote these guys a lot. Looks professional. You cut it to the beat which is perfect. Only thing I could think of that you could possibly change would have been a few more shot selections at the beginning. But you said you wanted it simple, so... I can see you getting a lot more work on stuff like this in the near future.

Re: Short Band Promo

Like stabb film said a few more shots in the AE stuff. I'ld like to see more of the crazy head movements, etc. or dance moves.

But I liked it. Very well done and the exit was perfect.

Re: Short Band Promo

Very nice Mike, I agree with Stabb Films, it might be nice to have a wider variety of shots – not necessarily more shots just different angles. It flows very well and has a good look.

Did you green screen this? It is difficult to review video over the web, it appears that you have some spill on the bottom of the keyboards and in some of their clothing that is noisy and pops a bit. Did you use the keyer in AAE or Ultimatte or Primatte?

Good job.

Re: Short Band Promo

I used keylight. The green screen was tough man... I used stuff from the fabric store :)

Thanks for the input. I am realizing things that I would've never noticed without feedback.

Re: Short Band Promo

I’m not familiar with Keylight but I know that Primatte and Ultimatte have AAE plug-ins, both of these applications give you a great deal of control over spill suppression, grain and noise reduction, and color correction, they also have great tools for pulling mattes on unevenly lit backgrounds. Depending on how much green screen work you think you will be doing it might be worth checking them out.

In a perfect world you want about a stop and a half difference between the foreground and background, which usually means separating you talent from the background and lighting each separately. It is amazing that you were able to achieve the quality that you did. Good job.

Re: Short Band Promo

make it a lot shorter and have a lot of horizonal image movement with some stoke effects weaving in between the layers - maybe particle effects with some glow apllied too. place that static effect (AE) over the peoples mattes and have it have 3D lighting. Make the static effect a bit larger or smaller on the people apposed to the background. much more 3d movement and lighting and all that.

great work. DO AS I SAY

Re: Short Band Promo

I think this clip does what it is supposed to do; promote the artists.

Simple, and only us video geeks will worry about spill footage!

I was a bit alarmed at how close you had those guys to your screen, but realised that for your purposes, it doesn't matter. Silhouettes are much more forgiving than full color plates.

I liked it.

Re: Short Band Promo

I liked it. The graphics were great, and I even liked the music. You put this together very nicely.

Keep it up..
