Hi! I have to shoot a feature in 16:9 with the DVX100AE but I do not want to see the picture on the LCD stretched. Is there a trick to avoid that? Thanks! Sven

The anamorphic ("unsqueezer") adapter that dakotapod mentions works quite well. However, I don't believe that Century makes one yet that fits the DVX100 LCD screen which is considerably larger than the Sony PD150 or the VX2000. Perhaps there is another manufacturer? Another option would be to rent a professional 9" field monitor that has a 16x9 switch built in on the front or retrofitted on the back of the monitor. The rental cost will run about $30 - $40 per day - but you can usually negotiate a better weekly rate. The purchase price can be up $1000 new. The added bonus is being able to critically judge your lighting, exposure, and other nuances much better with the 9" monitor (after it is properly callibrated) than the LCD screen which is very affected by ambient light and viewer angle. It may seem like a lot of money if your feature is low budget, but personally, I would never go out on any professional job (except a verite documentary) without a pro quality monitor. Just be sure to use a hoodman or other means to shield as much light from the monitor as possible before making critical value judgements. Have the rental house show you how to properly set up the monitor to the color bars on your camera. There may be other cheaper monitors (that will fit a tight budget) that can unsqueeze an anamorphic image for framing purposes - but I would not rely on them for lighting/exposure judgements. Good luck with your feature!

No problem. I wish Century made an LCD unsqueezer for the DVX.

Centrery just recently came out with an unsqueezer attachment for the VF on the DVX.

Or at least they are going to be releasing it. I can't find it on there web site but i saw it at a trade show.

If you will or could have a laptop computer on set, take a look at DVRack from Serious Magic. It can do the equivalent of the reference monitor plus provide many other quality related functions ofr $500. This week they announced and shipped a slimmed down version that is only $100 if bought before year end.
