shooting with two different cameras

Hello again,
I am shooting a music video at the beach: a lot of sunlight and artificial light in addition to help. The 2 cameras are our dear panasonic dvxag100b and the other available camera is the canon xl2. Will that be a problem? Is there any good setting to make both images look as similar as possible?
I am also afraid of (besides rain, wind, bad luck and other usual catastrophes :) ) sand. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

The only way to match both cams is to do lots of camera tests prior to the shoot. Can you not rent a second DVX100B, and then transfer the settings and jam sync the timecode? It would avoid lots of post issues. As for protection against the elements, some sort of portabrace covering for both cams is recommended, but not mandatory. Just take good care of them and put the cams in their transport bags when not in use. If you plan on going in the water with them, then that's another story. Also, get yourself a couple of circular polariser, they will help.
