Hello everyone , I need some help on a film project that I am about to do here in China .Hope you guys can help me.I have been shooting with the dvx100 ntsc for the past four years. Just recently , I got a job to shoot a action feature film with the new hvx200 pal , starting in four days! . Need help!
only three questions.

1) Is there are any major difference in how to shoot between the two cameras? If so please explain in basic terms the differences .

2) Currently what are the best settings I need for Cinema/ film look?.

3) What is the definition of workflow?

So if you guys have any information that you can share with me . don't hesitate to pm me or post here. Thanks again .
peace.

Hey Drago,

this might sound stupid, but i think most of the information you need, you will find on the forum.

My feeling is, that the difference between the 100 and 200 in handling is not too different, for the best settings you also have to take a look on the forum, it depends what certain look you want, i would also check the "scene files" section where users posted their scenfiles and settings for certain looks.

For workflow: it depends how many p2 cards you got, i would suggest a kind of assistance, someone who can copy the p2s to an external harddrive with a laptop (through pcmcia, so that you can keep rolling with the cam.)

Make sure that the assistant checks your clips through "virtual p2 card" in p2 viewer or in an editing solution before deleting the P2. (i never had ANY problem, but heard from people who had copied clips that didnt work.

anyway, there is alo a very good thread about p2 workflow.

I would make sure that you have your files on a raid5 or burned on data-dvds at the end of the day, cant imagine the pain when your drive dies and you got no backup!

good luck and tell us how you are doing with your babe!

p.s.where in china are you working, a friend of mine is over there right now.)
