Shooting with Dvx100a and Dvx100b

I'm shooting a wedding this weekend and my partner and I will be using these cameras to shoot.
Is there anything we should be looking for in regards to the difference between our cameras? We plan on shooting 24pa, but other than that, does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm not sure if I'd shoot in 24pa, to be honest with you. I don't even shoot in 24p when doing weddings. You'll run into problems with the panning, and other various small issue's. Also, I always use a LOT of slo motion in post to get that extra tear out of the bride, and 24 won't get near as smooth as, say, 30.

Maybe shoot the actual ceremony at 24p (normal), then switch it over to 30 for the reception and what not.

Just be sure to white balance both camera's on the same white card (or whatever you see) before the ceremony, before the reception, and any other time the scene changes, and you'll be fine with the camera's.

Hello Strauss,

My wife and I have the 100 a and 100 b. I'm getting a stronger red with the 100a than with the 100 b. Did you notice the same difference between your two cameras. It's possible that it's just a difference between the viewfinders. I can't say that I've noticed any big difference on the actual footage, but it definitely shows in the viewfinders. We had a really bad time with the auto white balance on the 100 b. The shots would change on us in the middle of a scene because of the camera constantly adjusting the white balance. We had to go into the menu to turn it off on both camera's. (It's probably more sensitive on the b than the a.)
