Shooting with 300 at US Open tennis

I've been shooting all week at the US Open for CBS sports using my hpx300. Using it along side a varicam (tape) and it's matching pretty well. Shooting 720p DVCPROHD, mostly 60P and some 24p. Most of the stuff is used for teases, show openings and features. Fist pumps, reaction shots and end of matches. They decided to shoot with a lo sat look, which I'm not crazy about. So if you watch, that's why there isn't much color. Very close to the Faded scene file.

I'm just guessing, but teenis broadcasts always suffer from the high contrst of sunny, late summer days. For that reason, CBS may have elected a lower contrast profile.

No, it was purely the producer wanting to change looks. We've done really hi sat looks the last couple of years. It looks good, I just have to keep telling myself that there is nothing wrong with the camera.

That was some really great stuff. Fantastic shooting and editing.....really shows what you can with an HPX300 in the right hands. Kudos.
