Alright, here's the thing... I've recently began working on the DVX100B and I'm trying to figure out how exactly i can get the true 16:9 aspect ratio this camera's supposed to be able to capture...
I am very confused about several aspects of widescreen shooting...
The Letterbox feature in the camera simply masks the 4:3 footage at the top and bottom so as to "pass" as 16:9 right??? you don't necessarily get the "extra" horizontal info that you are supposed to gain by shooting widescreen right??
what about the Squeeze mode in the camera??
and how about using a wide angle lens, because basically i'm trying to do 16:9 projects but I don't wanna give up vertical lines to get it, which seems to be what I'm doing, and no matter which of these settings I use, still when I output video to FCP's Anamorphic or HD presets (obviously) my footage looks horizontally distorted...
What is the way to shoot True Widescreen on the DVX100B and output that video so that it looks normal, is basically what I'm interested in
I should probably look around here more but I'm new to this site so if you guys could just maybe link some previous threads on this or something, I'd really appreciate it, Thanks!!! :dankk2:
