Shooting UV light

I am shooting an industrial video soon and will be shooting various steel processing machines at work. One of the machines is a plasma cuttiing torch, that basically cuts giant pieces of thick steel, and emits UV light... a lot of it!

Of course, I have a UV filter on the lens, but I get the feeling that it's not enough protection.

Should I avoid that shot? Or, is there a way to get the shot without damaging the lens and/or chips?

Thanks for any insight.

Re: Shooting UV light

Don't have the camera focused on the light too long. You might damage your lense. Do a search on this site. There's been numerous talks about this particlar concern.
