When I shoot someone up close with my HVX, like 3 feet away from the lens, I get a bit of fisheye effect. Is this lens distortion?, Is this normal for the HVX?
Depends on how wide-angle you have the lens set. The HVX has a very wide wide-angle lens, especially the HVX200A. If you're on full wide, you can see some barrel distortion, yes.
