use a good UV filter, and be sure that youre exposure isnt frying your CCDs ..thats pretty much it. you could get all crazy about it. but theres no real need.
FOr the most part I wouls say that sunsets are pretty safe, mid day sun you want to avoid filming directly. OTher than that, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
