hi, i dont know if anyone can help me but i have recently purchased a hpx 172 in australia, i have up graded from a canon xha1.
with the xha1 i would edit the footage in final cut pro 6 and export a h.264 or mpeg 4 or sometimes full quality quicktime file, and then run it through on2 flix as a vp6-e flv with a bit rate of 500kbps and vbr, and at 150 keyframes, frame size - 640x360
The results were allways pretty good, but know i am using the hpx 172 and doing the same thing but with dvcpro hd and am getting super blocky and pixalated results with the flash conversion! This is only with surfing footage though and normal shots with minimal motion look great. The only way i can improve this is by uping the bit rate or lowering the keyframes - which makes the flv file bigger.
i am shooting in 720 50 p (and have tried every other option) with a shutter speed of around 1/250 in bright conditions and aperture around 4-6.8f , and the appropriate ND filter if a bright day.
Are my shooting settings wrong? ( i feel i have tried many options - quicker and slower shutter speeds etc...)
I am really confused as the flash files from my canon xha1 are pretty good but with the panasonic they are awful - i know its something im doing wrong and not the equipment but i cant seem to figure it out!
hopefully somebody here can help!
