Shooting Sports

I'm looking for a settings list someone may know of, when shooting outdoor sports games. I'm having a hard time keeping everything balanced, and am not sure what to do with the color temp/chroma/etc. Any ideas?

What's wrong with you camera? If shooting in bright sunlight, engage the ND filters. That will prevent overly blown-out images. If the event involve fast sports like sprinting, then you can choose a faster shutter speed to reduce blurring of fast-moving objects.

is using 24p a good idea for sports cuz of all the fast moving pans and tilts?

Think about every hollywood sports movie. Now think if you want that filmic feel or you want that video feel.

If your aim is to get a film look then go with 24p. If your camera tracks with the athelete (if he's running for eg) & keeps same pace with him, then the athelete will not have any strobing. It will the background moving by rapidly that would have the strobing effects. But the main character of the movie will be the athelete, so the audience would hardly notice the strobing background. Film cameras also produce strobing during fast moving shots, but the trick is the keep the camera with the same pace/speed as the main subject. Then the main subject will appear clear & free from strobing. If your movie is intended for a general TV audience, then shoot interlaced. Just my 2 cents worth.

the reason i ask is cuz i shoot football for the local tv station most of the time im standing still while the action comes to me or im standing far away i have to zoom in to get the action will the strobing still be there or barely noticed?
