GH13 Shooting some short time lapse sequences

Another quick question, hopefully I'm just missing a simple setting.

I used to do some simple frame by frame shooting with a Canon point and shoot. I'm not talking super complicated, long sequences of plants growing or clouds moving. Just short periods of time which I'd then import as an image sequence in Quicktime Pro to play back as a movie.

Basically, when you set the Canon to continuous shooting mode, it did just that.. ie - it shot photo after photo at regularly timed intervals until you let go of the button. On the GH1, I can't seem to find a way to get it to do this. The continuous shooting mode (or is it burst mode?) only seems to take a bunch of shots as fast as the shutter speed lets it, and then stops after like 10 or so shots.

I really want to be able to just hold the button down and have it shoot continuously, and most importantly, at a regularly timed interval, until I let go of the button. I realize that there are buffer issues and so on, but I'm not expecting it to take them at really high speed. Just one shot every second would be more than fine, as long as it was evenly timed and wouldn't stop until I say so. Otherwise, when you try to import your sequence of stills into QT and make a stop motion movie out of it, you end up with bursts of movement that stop and start because the camera only wanted to take a handful of shots at a time.

Is there a setting I'm missing? Ideally, I'd love to be able to just set it on a tripod, set up my frame and then just tell the camera to start taking shots at whatever cadence I chose (obviously within the limits of how fast it can record), and then stop when I tell it to. Do I need some kind of remote control kit or extra external software/hardware to do this? Seems silly that I should need this, given that my el cheapo Canon point and shoot could do this out of the box.

Any ideas?

Thanks, I figured I needed to get one of those. Was just hoping there was at least a way to make burst mode shoot at regular intervals without needing an extra hardware. You'd think it would be a super easy function to include in a camera these days...
Cheers for the pointers.
