shoot 30p. in opinion, it produces better results for skating videos. i got too much strobing in 24p, plus in 30p you have more light at your disposal.
how is 30p for filming fast motion stuff? whats the deal with slow motion with 30p? is putting it in a 24p timeline the best way to do it? any good way to get something slower?
unless your filming forumula 1 30p looks great for fast motion, compared to stuff I have filmed skateboarding is relatively slow. You also have the option to slow something down with 30p like a hammer at the end of a second.
shoot interlaced video for skateboarding, that's the industry standard anyways, plus you're going to want to boost the shutter speed way up and that will get very choppy in progressive scan, which will give everyone headaches
Using 30p rather 24p grabs more frame per second and give you less "jump" between captures when there's action. If you want to do nice slo-mo then shoot 60i witha shutter speed of 120. Then slow it down by 50% in timeline. Or slow it by 60% if you are placing it in a 24p timeline.
There's lot of info about slo-mo and shooting action on the board here. Do a search and you will find good stuff.
