Shooting s-log with samurai

Has anyone shot s-log with samurai yet? I tried to shoot today and got a completely green screen in samurai monitor although the image looked fine in the camera viewfinder.

Thought that the captured image will look fine but that is also green.

Am I doing something wrong or is it a bug with samurai?

I presume you output through sdi and not dual link. If from the dual link, that would explain it. Otherwise I have nothing to offer since I have not tested one.

One more thing-- have you updated to the most current Samurai firmware?

I was usiing the dual port rather than SDI. Changed it and it and now it is all fine. Many thanks

With the upcoming 1.3 firmware, you will be able to output S-Log 4:2:2 through the Dual Link A port and a LUT-ed output from SDI or HDMI

Ned, did you hear if the DNxHD firmware fix is out? (I know they released the audio one, but don't know if DNx was at the same time.)

Dont know about Samurai. I was promised one for review but they seem to have gone mia. Pix240 is now working fine with DNx

I've tested the Samurai very recently, but DNxHD wasn't ready yet.

I just did a test - 1080p 23.94 s log and 1080p 29.97 s log out with the samurai going to Pro Res onto a Samsung 470 128gb harddrive and all is good! Image looks fine - haven't done a total test to see how it compares to the Ki Pro Mini's image but for me it looks good. Nothing strange to report. I recorded audio. Once I deleted track 3 and 4 - i got rid of a pop noise. I was only feeind ch 1 and 2 to it.

All is good. For now. Going to use it on a paid gig next. will have a ki pro mini as a backup
