we are shooting a short track race for the feature film Short Track, using the HVX200...
it will be a night shoot, under the track lights... would some one be so kind as to recomend settings for this camera under this situation ... thanks in advance...

I will post footage after the race...

chris

Cine D - standard (SC File 6 i think) is a great setting for anything, "film like". You might want to try playing with the framerates and shutter angles for some cool effects. 1/120-1/200th will give you that "Saving Private Ryan" look.. great for car wrecks, but you need a bunch of light.. I would shoot 720/30p For the fast motion of the cars (you can still sync). BUT TRY IT!! You might like the look of the 24p..

I'd go to the track and shoot some tests to get a feel for what you are trying to get. This camera loves light, so depending on where your shooting (the stands or the pits) you might find yourself in a bit of trouble..

Also, get a GREAT HEAD and set of stix.. Following a fast moving vehicle will look like crap without a great head!

Thanks for the reply Justin, I plan on using Cine D... I would like to shoot in 24pn as the rest of the film will be shot for a 24p timeline... good idea about the increased shutter angeles... might produce some interesting effects... It's stadium lighting, but it is a short track so I'm not sure how dark it will b... I've been playing with the scene settings for get a richer color... it will be fun to experiment as we only need a very small portion of the footage for the movie...

chris
