Shooting PAL: P2 to tape

Got a request to shoot DVCPRO/PAL- no problem on HPX500, but client wants footage on mini dv tape. Can I use my HVX200 to download the P2 cards to dv tape and still keep footage in PAL?

No... a US HVX won't play the PAL footage so it won't be able to dub to tape.

You could maybe shoot on the 500 in DV mode, and then rent/borrow/buy a cheap PAL DV camcorder and do a firewire dub to it.
