I've shot at the beach in Malibu in March and on the streets of Los Angeles in June - both really sunny days - and the camera did exceptionally well (DVX 100 that is). I'm not sure of the set up on your camera but run some tests with different master ped settings. The day I shot in LA I had a "0" master ped (with 0 setup) and my blacks/shadows were a little "milky" and a bit noisy. I would have definitely shot with a -3 or -4 if I had known. Also, again I'm not sure of the options on your camera, but test the low gama setting if you have one. Finally, get a polarizer filter for nice blue skies and increased DOF (you'll definitely need both your on-camera ND filters as well.)
