Shooting on a HMC150 - Playing back on a different HMC150 = not working

So I have had this issue 2 times now. We shoot 2 HMC150's, I get home to playback the footage and its not working. When it comes to playing back - no clips from the other camera show up on my camera. 1st time no write protection, 2nd time write protected card to make sure nothing changed.

Anyone have any advice?

I also am aware of the different framerates not showing up - I did check them all anyways. We both shot 720/60p.

Have you tried playing the cards in a Blu ray player with an SD slot? It would be interesting to see if the problem shows up.

Sorry I assumed that the OP, as he is a very experienced HMC150 user, would have asked the question in a different way if it could not be downloaded and played by the computer. On the other hand my technical training did teach me to assume nothing:-)

You know I was wondering if the firmware was different. I know mine is the original from about a year ago - not sure what his is.

Dont have a SDHC bluray or xbox360 :(

DOES have the footage on the card still though, works fine in FCP...

You know I am close to putting my finger on it... I think its the macs...

Every time a card was no longer able to read in the camera - it was just stuck in a mac to copy or view files.................

Oh yeah. The MacOS places some weird indexing files on any media you open in the system. Could probably screw things up.

I put a card in a mac and it screwed up the in cam preview and I ran the avccam restore on my pc and It worked in camera.

BTW: LOOKS like it works if you WRITE PROTECT the card... simple work around I will be doing from now on!

Man call me a mac fanboy or whatever, but i never lock my cards when I put them in the Mac... and i never get this problem. Just right now i put a card with some footage (already backed up) and i viewed the files with VLC and Toast video player, ejected the card and put it back on the camera! everything looks the same, no problems at all. I also tried my old dual G5, and no problems with that either.

What are you viewing the file with on the computer? i think the files you guys are talking about is the indexing when you journal a drive... I'm really curious what's causing this this problem.
I opened my Disk Utility Preferences to see if there's an option to journal new drives as soon as they mount and didn't see anything related!

All i can say is, I tried to replicate the problem you have and i didn't get it!... Anything else you might think is creating this problem?

I had a similar situation my record setting did not match the playback and it wouldn't play. I changed the record setting to match the files and it played. In my situation my cam was set to 1080p30 but the clips were 720p60 I set the cam to 720p60 for record and that allowed me to play the clips back.

Super from the look of it - with all those drives and no errors, you must be doing something right. I also swear I noticed the mbp changing all cap folders to all lowercase...

I have no time now but I want to do some tests and replicate the problem...

thanks elias I feel you, i had mentioned
