Shooting night exteriors

Hello, I'm planning ahead for a 20min short. Part of it is nighttime exteriors -
1. In the woods, a bunch of kids partying by a campfire.
2. A guy standing on a deserted street at night.

I'm using the DVX100A for sure and maybe the HVX200. Can you give me some lighting tips or perhaps the possibility of shooting Day for Night?

All the lights I've got are interior video and a couple of home made soft boxes. Can you suggest a portable light set up? Thanks
