shooting modes question

hi all i have had (what a thought was a EUR model) GH1 for quite a while but only just started testing it for video capabilities.

I shot some comparisson video some at full HD mode and some set to motion jpeg.
I thought the motion jpeg was 50p to enable smoother slow mo (or was I getting confused with the AF101?)

I have just dragged it into premiere pro cs4 and it is showing as 30fps... now I either expected 25fps or 50fps...

I'm baffled and would appreciate some clarification
 
MJPEG has always been 30 fps, not 29.97 for NTSC or 25/50 for PAL models. If you want TV frame rates you'll have to use the AVCHD modes.

I've heard a lot about the 720 mode being virtually as good as 1080 but using less space on the card. However its only really an option to use this if you're not planning on mixing it with any other cameras footage (without changing the framerates with third party software) is that correct?

Perhaps the AG-AF101 has 720p AVCHD at 50fps and thats what I was thinking of...?
