Shooting into the sun

Hello,

I know these are probably dumb questions that've been done, but if I were to shoot into the sun (say for a time-lapse sunset), would my white balance be set as if I were shooting an object a few feet in front of the camera, or would it be different? Obviously, with the lighting behind my white object, it would be different than the horizon I was planning as my subject matter.

Also, will it hurt the HVX200 sensors to shoot into the sun? I didn't see anything about that in the manual.

Thanks,

Lawrence

Ok,

I know I'm really much less than talented when it comes to effectively searching these posts, but I have finally found what I was looking for. And just in case anyone else was asking the same question, I think this gives me some idea of what others think of the issue!

I am shooting video in the North Sea and shouldn't experience strong sunlight (especially around sunset or sunrise). So I'm going to use my ND filter and I think I'll be fine.

As for the white balance, I still haven't found anyone who discusses this. If I find anything, I'll share it.

I think the danger would be more in the potential heat you might be subjecting the chips to over time. Of course, in terms of exposure, you could set the knee below complete overexposure and also avoid using small iris openings when shooting the sun.
