SHOOTING IN WATER - short film

This short was much more difficult than I had thought. Between the sway of the boat, the wind, changing light and extreme subject matter, I had a hek of a time putting this together. The shooting is not my best, but I think there's something here.

It was shot on a dvx100a 24f advanced...(streaming version is highly compressed)

This is the first rough cut (still working out problems and many rules are broken) but I'd love your thoughts...

This was very intelligent and effective. I liked how you tackled it. It was written too obviously though, too in your face. But i got the analogy. We can build a 450 mile 35 foot wall in Palestine using American Taxpayers money, but the US can't build a lousy 50 mile 20 foot wall around New Orleans to protect it from flood waters. And don't get me started on the 50 Million Americans without Health Insurance!

F*CK BUSH.

Well done. Good acting, although a bit cliché at times. I liked the audio inserts. However, the two actors in the water felt like they were sitting on a shallow beach or on some rock, as they weren't moving much (which they probably were for practical shooting reasons). It would have been more realistic if they were holding on to some debris or driftwood and wobbling about. And what about the horizon? Unless you were in a lake, it would have been nice to see the endless ocean to give a sense of gloomy fate for the 2 protagonists.

I agree with flinstone. as good as the film and the message was, it would have been even better if we could see the big picture of where these two guys were. Really good stuff none the less.
