I have a shoot coming up where I have to shoot people having a snowball fight, making snow angels etc. Just looking for any hints/tips. Normally I just drop an ND filter and go to town, but this is my first snow shoot with DVX. Any thing I need to watch out for?
Make sure you over-expose the snow by about a stop or so. Otherwise you will have a grey, flat looking image. This is pretty easy to do and judge with the DVX with the LCD.

Also, turn on your zebra indicators. That way you will know for sure.
Let me correct myself slighty: overexpose what the camera tells you it wants to do. The camera tries to set the snow as the mid grey point if on auto. On manual this isn't as much of a problem. Just remember that your highlights are now most of your frame and shoot accordingly otherwise the snow won't come out as a highlight. In other words push the exposure to the point where it is just about to blow out but does not. it will give you bright white snow. Don't settle for just a mid range or you will get grey ugly snow. For instance, I somehow engaged the auto iris on one of my shoots. All my footage was grey and dull:
Thanks for the clarification, Shaw! Makes perfect sense. Very nice of you to include grabs, by the way.
Snow presents a unique own set of challenges, but as with most exposure situations, zebras can really save the day. Definitely a feature I should practice more with.
