Shooting in flicker hell

As tipota said I shot in flicker hell! There was all sort of lights pulsating. My footage showed these dark bands moving over the images.
I shot with 180 degree shutter. 1080 25p. I am in india. it was the festival of ganesha- the elephant god. I saw this phenomena for first time. I saw the same thing happening with solitary 100 watts tungsten bulb in my bathroom.

here is the footage

Change your angle on the shutter to 172.8, this might be for shooting 24P in 50Hz. Yesterday I got rid of it at 207.5. I am in Netherlands at IBC and there was one odd light on the set

Best of luck,

Its also quite possible that the mains frequency is not constant or standard, some of the electrical distribution in India can sometimes be a bit problematical

Looks more like it. Phase shift is harder to come by than flickering. If the mains frequency is slightly off I doubt that changing the shutter would help. Anyone any experience with phasing?

Also one may be in even more trouble if the mains are constant but another light source runs on slightly out of phase generator or ballasts or a dimmer produces problems. Mix of frequencies = catch 22.
