Im using the varicam as cam 1 and inserts are HVX. Ive seen a lot of guys using a mix of varicam/hvx footage. So, im interested in knowing what has worked best scene file wise for all of you.
Also, this is a technical question. during rehearsals last night the varicam locked up and seems to be stuck on its settings. Its extremely black, as if the pedestal is altered and changes to the gamma make no different. Its like theres no middle grays. Its either black or white. -15 to the pedestal on the HVX would be the equivalent. How do I "unlock" or fix this? (master pedestal made no difference and changing gamma from .35 to .7 stays same)
