shooting F5 or F6

I was wondering about the two scene files. Which of the two is recommended... F5 or F6? Does shooting in F5 give one a sharper image, since it there is more contrast? Is F6 giving one that much more dynamic range (latitude)? Can one notice when footage is shot with both during a project? Is F6 a less processed image (color matrix)?

Any information would be appreciative.
