Shooting DVX100a w/HVX200?

I already have a DVX100a and plan to buy a HVX200 as soon as they are on the market. What's the best mode to shoot the DVX100a with the HDX200 for documentary projects so the footage will be as seamless as possible. The obvious answer is to buy another DVX100a, but I want a camera for an indie project later that has the 24p, 16x9 and the high resolution.

Thanks.

we dont know what modes the HVX has yet. some testing wold have to be done once they are available to test to determine what would make the best match in peoples opinions. although i assume it will have some of the same gamma modes as the DVX-a.

In my experience, cameras for one manufacturer seem to match each other pretty well compared to cameras for different companies.

but... the HVX is a different ball game really and we won't know anything until it gets here. You can bet the HVX will give a sharper picture in 16x9 and of course HD. At a complete guess I would say they should match reasonably well, but there is no point in speculating until the HVX is released... come on Panasonic..pleeeeeaseee hurry up....!

Use the Anamorphic lens if you want to match 16:9. I'ts a pain for doc work but fulfills some of your criteria.
